Who We Are Looking For

We can still have a seat at the table, even if we have to bring our own chair."
The Saint Padre Alberto Hurtado Advisory is a collective of Emeritus Professionals and Disabled Peers who have traded the "billable hour" for a mission of radical accompaniment. We don't have "staff"; we have an Arsenal.

The Roles (Non-Professional Peer Support)

  • The Professional Bench (Emeritus): Are you a retired attorney, doctor, fiduciary, or systems expert? We need your "Dual Authority,” your deep knowledge of the system and your heart for justice, to serve as a peer navigator. Note: You will be acting in a non-professional capacity; we do not provide legal or medical advice.

  • The Peer Bench (Navigators): Have you navigated the "Medical Siege" or the "Hot Mess" of the disability system? Your lived experience is your credential.

The "Spoon Policy" (Our Commitment to You) Because many of us are disabled, older adults, or caregivers, we operate with a strict Spoon Policy:

  • Health First: Your health and your family are your primary vocation.

  • No Control/No Quotas: We have no rigid shifts or labor quotas. You contribute as your capacity and energy permit.

  • Remote-First: Our "Digital Green Truck" allows you to provide high-level advocacy from your own home, on your own terms.

Ways to Raise Your Hand

  • Strategic Navigation: Helping a neighbor organize their "hot mess" of trusts, medical bills, or systemic barriers.

  • Community Voices: Serving as a guest speaker or facilitator for virtual workshops (strictly pro bono).

  • The "No Wrong Door" Network: Helping us build the map for neighbors in need.

Safety & Integrity As a vocational ministry of Ekklesia Iwiga Inc. (501c3), we maintain high ethical standards. All volunteers must undergo background checks and acknowledge their role as Mandated Reporters.

Tell Us Your Story We don't do "interviews"; we have conversations. Tell us about your pedigree (your professional background) and your "chair" (your lived experience).
